Chef Gordon Ramsay HELP
September 20, 2013 Friday night at 7:00 pm went to the Funky Monkey Wine Company on Mills for Magic dining, What a total disappointment Years ago this place was great but now I’ll be surprised if they’re still in business a year from now. I have no one to blame but myself because about 6 months ago I saw one of these Groupon deal for this place and I thought they must be in trouble. Why else would they need to do a giveaway like that. Lets face it, meal deals are for new restaurants trying to get people in the seats but when you see a well established place trying to fill seats that way they are one step short of calling Chef Gordon Ramsay. Here’s what happened; besides there only being 4 full tables and the rest of the place empty on a Friday night at 7PM we ordered 2008 bottle of wine no presentation she just opened it and poured. My friend John said, ‘not as good as I remembered it’ looked at the bottle and it was a 2010. in wine 2 years makes a different. Then the food finally came (over an hour later). My fish was dry and overcooked. I took two bites out of it and told the server, she took it away and the manager came back and said your fish was fine, we tasted it and you’re not getting a new one or the old on either, here is your bill. I spent $35.00 for half an avocado appetizer and two bites of fish. I am not telling anyone not to go there but when you do “Remember it is own damn fault”
THIS IS NOT A GAY RESTAURANT
I was going to be in Orlando with my boy friend ..... found this on the site and it looked interesting. The ownership and some staff might be gay ...... but all the patrons except us were not. Very straight/date oriented. The common parking lot shared with Bananas ( same ownership ) displayed a rainbow flag. Stylish looking - even though the acoustic tiles were painted black - good service. Big wine list - good choices , but not cheap. Had a large Sushi selection that we did not try. The rest of the food was trying to be too ambitious, and maybe at one time was good, but not anymore. All dishes were over descriptive with too many ingredients trying too hard to be creative. Everything we ate was ok, but missed the mark. Really not worth the money we spent. Maybe going to the more down scale Bananas would have been a better choice.
Worst Dining Experience EVER
Title: Worst Dining Experience EVER Review: Where should I begin.... If you want to: sit at a restaurant for 3 hours eat cold food wait forever for your food cancel plans you made after dinner have a rude server be lied to the list can go on.... THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU I decided to dine here with my parents and my boyfriend for my 30th birthday we sat at 6:30 pm, first table in the restaurant.... we ordered our appetizers and dinner promptly my boyfriend and I had drinks....sake and beer my parents had water only, they don't drink alcohol appetizers arrived in a timely manner.... however, we waited over an hour for sushi and entrees.....are you kidding me????? the horrible server avoided our table!!!!! When we finally flagged her down, she said the sushi chef was backed up.... REALLY?? How come people who were sat after us are eating sushi??? She lied to us...and I assume she thought we were stupid....I told the server to bring my parents entrees out if they were ready, which she did. My mom had pork and my dad had shrimp since they were out of the scallops. Bothof there entrees were cold....Probably because they were waiting on the sushi, which was "backed up" She told my boyfriend and I whe would bring us something to eat while we waited on our sushi. She brought us an appetizer we had already had.....who does that? Bring something different. She also told us the manager was aware of the situation and that he was not happy about it, he never came to the table!!! I figure, he would have already been to our table! I told her I did not want the sushi anymore, yet she brought it anyway! My mom asked for the manager to come to our table, which he did. He offered to buy a round of drinks. Why would you offer a round of drinks to two people that don't drink alcohol?? He offered to discount the bill. If you offer something like that, you should honor it. There was no discount on the bill. This makes me wonder if he was even a manager. Definitely shows me he did not care, whoever he was. I asked for a box for the sushi, since she brought it out and I didn't want it anymore. The most condescending waitress in the world says to me "anything for your birthday" REALLY?!?!?!? I would have had my sushi an hour and a half ago. I will never ever in my life return here. The worst dining experience I have EVER had my entire life!!!!!! Way to ruin my birthday =)
Great food
The food, wine, and service were great. The outside could use some fix up. I think this place would boom if they added some more reasonably priced wine to the menu.
Great time!
Very nice atmosphere and service. Sushi was very good and a great wine selection. Great place to meet up with friends.
