This year, in honor of the “African Immigrant Heritage Month”, the city of Orlando will celebrate a landmark in its push for cultural inclusion and diversity with a 3-day African event spanning arts, fashion, entertainment, music, dance and collaborations between Friday 4 September and Saturday 5 September 2015.
The City of Orlando, District 5 Commissioner Regina Hill is proud to deliver African Festival 2015 program that truly reflects the city’s community outreach and honors the culture and traditions of U.S. residents who trace their roots to Africa.
This festival will deliver to our community an exceptional event that promises to inspire, entertain and challenge you, focusing the spotlight on Africa’s amazing culture, music and people in our region.
There are local and international participants gracing this program, designed to celebrate and showcase all things Africa and we are extremely pleased to bring the highlights, namely the African Gala, family friendly Carnival at Downtown Lake Eola and the “Social Africana” party.
As the City of Orlando in collaboration with Africans In Orlando a member of the African Leaders Council count down to the 2015 African Festival in September, we invite you to join us on the journey there.
