Orlando, Fla. – Emotions Dance Company, a professional contemporary dance company that focuses on social and environmental awareness through the art of dance, presents its third annual installment of “The Shift.” The Company is teaming up with the best in Contemporary, Modern, and Improvisational Dance to allow audiences the chance to experience new, experimental, and in-progress works—all under one roof. The performances are scheduled for Friday September 25, 2015 at 8pm, Saturday September 26, 2015 at 8pm, and Sunday September 27, 2015 at 2pm. All performances will be at the Mandell Theatre, located at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center (812 E. Rollins St. Orlando). Presale tickets are available August 15 through September 20, 2015; they are $18 General Admission or $14 for Students/Seniors. Tickets at the door will be $20 for General Admission and $15 for Students/Seniors.
Companies involved in this year’s performance will include: Yow Dance, AHHA Dance, Works by Ariel Clarke, Coby Project, Dawn Branch Works, Afro Latin Dance Project, Red Right Return, Still, Moving-Dance, Explore Dance and Theatre Company and Emotions Dance Company. A special opening number by students from Emotions Dance Studio also will be presented. After the performance, a Question and Answer session will be held with the Artistic Directors of the ten companies involved this year to allow audience feedback and provide insight into the creative process. The goal of this performance is to not only showcase Orlando’s best in dance, but to also shift our perspectives on movement, dance, and art.
