Orlando Benefit for Ugandan LGBT Rights

It’s illegal to be gay in Uganda, and has been since colonial times. In recent years, American influence in the form of hate-mongering right wing religious leaders has brought new levels of discrimination to the beleaguered population. This February, the Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act was signed into law by the President of Uganda. This has unleashed increased threats of criminalisation and persecution against the gay community, leading to many Ugandans living in constant fear. In response, Unitarian Universalists are waging peaceful opposition to the legislation and its imported campaign of violence.
